Job Overview

  • Work as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the design and development (integration, alignment, and test) of optical and opto-mechanical components, subsystems, and electro-optical payloads to be flown on satellites.
  • Perform optical design, analysis, and simulations, straylight analysis and background analysis using optical/opto-mechanical design software.
  • Operate interferometers, collimators, spectrometers, integrating sphere, theodolites, and other optical metrology hardware.
  • Write and review procedures and other documentation under the direction of project leader.
  • Participate in the procurement process for engineering services and fabrication of required systems, including identification of potential vendors, preparation of technical specifications and participation in the selection process.
  • Exercise best practices during assembly, integration, and test of space hardware.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Abilities Required
Azista’s Aerospace & Satellite division specializes in designing, developing, manufacturing, and testing of satellites, sub- systems, payloads and sat-com products. Azista in partnership with Berlin Space Technologies GmbH (BST) has built the India’s largest private satellite mass manufacturing plant. Azista is looking is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic immediate hire for the role of optical engineer to be part of our payloads team. The engineer would be part of the team, that would realize variety of optical telescopes.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Optical Engineering/Applied Optics.
  • Experience with optical design codes such as CODEV or ZEMAX.
  • Experience with opto-mechanical analysis codes using non-sequential ray trace such as LIGHTOOLS or TRACEPRO.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience with limited complexity optical hardware, its assembly and test.
  • Fundamental knowledge of optical metrology techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sufficient verbal and written communication skills.
Experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of moderately complex to complex optical design and one or more optical design code (eg. CODEV, ZEMAX).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Stray Light analysis, thermal background analysis, Ghost and Narcissus analysis using opto-mechanical analysis codes such as LIGHTOOLS, TRACEPRO or equivalent software.
  • Working knowledge of one or more type of optical metrology equipment such as an interferometer.
  • Working knowledge of space hardware design, test and operation.
  • Experience in the field of optical fabrication and testing process.
